We are looking for a Senior Linux Engineer.
Your duties are varied. In this position you work in analyzing complex situations and have your own mail server research and testing of various components of the Zarafa software and related software. These are topics such as virtualization and clustering.
The Linux Engineers are part of the engineering team with 6 other colleagues (4 engineers in Delft and 2 in Germany) and have close contact with the development team. Within Zarafa the helpdesk colleagues catch the primary Linux issues that reach them via partners.
Typical for the Senior Linux Engineer
It concerns mostly weekly interactions with different clients, usually by telephone and e-mail. This obviously brings with it a different dynamic than a large project with one client. If this interests him, the Senior Linux Engineer can do analyzes on location one day per week.
What makes this job unique to Zarafa
As a young and growing company we have an above average reference and brand name, giving us the possibility to co-operate worldwide with Linux engineers and developers from many leading organizations. Even more interesting is that many Linux gurus/specialists from the first hours co-operate intensively with Zarafa. These organizations help Zarafa by sharing many challenges with mail servers and to look together for solutions or additional testing. Zarafa is young and fast growing, that’s why your ideas don’t need to overcome many ‘obstacles’ before they can be implemented. You sit in the developers meeting and learn how they deal with many development dimensions. An idea that you put on the wiki is actually used by thousands of administrators.
In short the following aspects make this job unique:
You're an experienced network engineer with a passion for Linux, have good communication skills, working closely and get a kick out of solving complex network issues. Discovering, understanding and install new (open source) software make you curious. Within your field you want to continue to develop.
Education and experience
A responsible full time (32 hour workweek to be discussed) function within a professional team. Within our rapidly growing company is a hands-on culture. Based on your vision and your chosen projects you build them to growth. Although not necessary for the implementation of this function, there are extensive opportunities to travel to other countries. Working one day a week from home is among the possibilities.
